On the Eight Principles of the Quality Management System

Though the ISO9001 quality system standard is just as many as dozens of pages, its meaning is really profound. Through the recent training and learning, I have deeper understanding and awareness, and here I like to talk about the eight principles for common exchange.

There are many key descriptions on the eight principles of In ISO9000: 2000 quality management standard and they are important for the good implementation of quality management. The objectives are: to draw the past theory and practice in quality management, to build a basic framework for the highest level of management to improve the performance. It can be summed up as: "one basis, two concerned aspects, three methods."

"One basis" is one of the eight principles: continual improvement. Faced with rapid changes in the market, enterprises must seek continual improvement and innovation in the products, methods, the top management of all aspects if thwy want to survive, develop and grow, or they will eventually be eaten by big ones. "Continual improvement" focuses on long-term persistance, so enterprises should follow the SMART principle to establish goals and to track management. Because if there is no objective, enterprises will have no forward direction; without direction, the management level will not be able to formulate effective plans of action; without plan, the implementing level will not be able to complete its work tasks; tasks being not completed, no even the profits and performance, and enterprises will inevitably die out. Therefore, it is very important.to establish the appropriate business principles, strategy, objectives, and to decompose into indicators of  various stages. Only in this way can collect the advantages of enterprise resources, to respond to unpredictable changes in the market and to seize key position, to make enterprises solider, stronger, bigger, and longer. As the so-called "shoulder to all indicators, we can pick the burden of enterprises."

One of "two concerned aspects" is "outside concern", which is to pay attention to our customers and supply-side, focus on customer, and establish mutual beneficial relations  with suppliers. As the saying goes, shopping malls is just like the battlefield, therefore, enterprises should take external market-oriented, flexible and rapid response of the market reaction to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty, which can increase market share and profit margins. The other is "inside concern" which emphasizes the leadership role and full participation. As we all know, the product quality is mainly decided by the four elements, design quality, raw materials quality, process quality and work quality, and the quality management can be said to involve R & D, sales, manufacturing, procurement and other areas. So it is a system project, requiring all departments to coordinate with each other, to achieve full participation.

 The above statement is to describe the premise and common sense of doing a good job of quality management. But it is not enough to only grasp knowledge. How to achieve the vision of enterprise? To this, the eight principles provide us with "three ways", which tells us what to do can be more effective to achieve our objectives. The "three methods" are: the process method; system management method; and the decision-making method based on the fact. We use these methods, by pre-planning, assessment, establishing, implementing quality management system and forming a workable document. In accordance with established procedures to ensure the way we operate, so as to ensure a coordinated operation of the system in order to enhance efficiency and make less detours. Quality management is based on the process and details. If the staff of our enterprise are able to do jobs in this way, the quality system will be strong, "the quality is enterprise' life" will no longer be an empty talk, and "quality-plant" will be just around the corner.
